The Hounds of Light

Page history last edited by PBworks 15 years, 8 months ago

Ten in number. Each one a match for any Hound of Shadow.

Pallid

Lock

Bone-white, both of them, with onyx eyes. Leaner than the (Hounds of Shadow), longer-necked, and covered in scars that revealed a startling dark blue skin beneath the short white hair.(Toll)

Venasara - Venasara still bore the signs of the ordeals of raising a squabble of young

Cast - Cast was almost twice the weight of Lock

Ultama - long-limbed, sleek, broad head held low at the end of a sinewy neck. Ultama's oversized upper canines jutted down. The exposed portions of the fangs, dagger-length, gleamed white.

Jalan

Grasp

Hanas

Jalan, Grasp and Hanas, the youngest three of the pack, hackles high and eyes flashing with vicious excitement.

Gait

Ghennen

the lord and the lady of the pack, more silver than white, with scarred muzzles misshapen by centuries of dread battle. These two wore thick collars of black leather scattered with pearls and opals – although far fewer baubles than had once adorned these proud bands.

Karsa kills one with a chop through the spinal cord...

The Second kills one with a lance through the brain...

A third Hound is dazed from colliding with the Second's horse and he and Karsa finish it off, though it's not impossible that it survives.

Samar's bear god kills one

Tulas Shorn picks up three and drops them from a great height - dead or alive?

Barathol smashes the jaw of Pallid, who is out of the fight but probably survives

Leaving two Hounds at Rake's corpse - one is skewered by the Second's thrown lance, the other similarly skewered by the javelins of Karsa's daughters, flesh wounds only and they are allowed to flee.

So, assuming Tulas kills his 3 and Karsa and the Second actually finished off their third between them, that leaves 3, one of which is Pallid.
